A special ceremony took place Thursday to honor those from Westchester killed in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks 13 years ago.
Westchester County's memorial "The Rising" at the Kensico Dam in Valhalla pays tribute to the 111 Westchester County residents killed in the 2001 attacks.
The 80-foot sculpture's intertwined stainless steel rods rise toward the sky, bringing together all who lost their lives that day.
The base of the memorial, called the Circle of Remembrance, bears the names of those victims and inscriptions left by their families.
