Pfizer announced this morning that results from an initial laboratory study show that three doses of its COVID-19 vaccine neutralize the omicron variant, while two doses were significantly less effective.

An expert committee voted narrowly to recommend that the Food and Drug Administration authorize a COVID-19 pill from Merck for high-risk adults.
