Tenants at a Yonkers apartment building entered their third day without heat Thursday.
Renters in 20 apartments have been without heat since Tuesday at 7383 Highland Ave.
"It's cold. I didn't even cook because it's freezing," said renter Melissa Briggs. "I'm wrapped up in my blanket."
Instead, she's using her oven to heat her apartment, which can lead to carbon monoxide poisoning. Briggs said her two children and mother, who suffers from lung disease, want to know when the heat will be turned back on.
knocked on the door of the superintendent, who said that a specialist is working on a circulation issue that is preventing the heat from working properly.
The superintendent expects the heat to be restored by Friday.
"They need to get this fixed," said Briggs. "They want us to pay rent. It's not fair. We're not animals and they shouldn't treat us like this."
