Tenants at one Spring Valley apartment complex spent Monday morning protesting against price increases they say new management is imposing across the board.

Tenants say North Brooklyn Management took over County Village Towers on Kennedy Drive in the summer of 2020. Since then, they say lease renewals have jumped $200 and management is allegedly fining tenants for having items on their balcony.

Tenants say management also want to change the one-time parking fee for cars to a monthly fee of $35 for the first car and $85 for each additional.

A property manager on scene declined to talk on camera, but management notified tenants on Monday that they will not move forward with the monthly parking charges at this point.

But tenants say it's not enough for them to back down, accusing new management of not resolving maintenance and pest issues.

News 12 is also digging deeper into the buildings code violations tenants raised and filed a FOIL request for those records with the Village of Spring Valley.
