A girl with muscular dystrophy got to take an exciting trip to a toy store, thanks to an anonymous donor.
Jackie Arista, 13, took a trip to Toys R Us for a shopping spree. The donor contributed to her purchases, which included gifts for her friends at the Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center in Yonkers.
Toys R Us also gave Arista a $100 gift card to use toward her shopping spree.
A day out for Arista isn't easy. She uses a wheelchair and had a respiratory therapist and nurse with her, along with a ventilator and medical equipment she needs to live.
Arista had never been to a toy store before until Friday.
"You know Jackie is happy when her eyes get really wide and she gets this tremendous smile on her face," said Dr. Joann Galley, Arista's school psychologist.
