Three people, including the teen driver, were injured in a car rollover crash Wednesday in Yonkers.
The one-car accident happened on Van Cortlandt Park Avenue. According to police, the 19-year-old driver crashed into a pole and then hit a fire hydrant. The driver and the front-seat passenger were ejected from the car and taken to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx. The backseat passenger was also injured and taken to St. Joseph?s Medical Center in Yonkers.
Police officials say when the fire hydrant was hit, water began to gush into the street. Investigators closed down Van Cortlandt Park Avenue for four hours while they worked the scene. There is no word on the condition of the victims. The cause of the accident is still unknown.
