A 15-year-old boy is facing charges in connection with two assaults involving female juveniles in New Rochelle.
According to New Rochelle police, the most recent incident occurred on Monday morning at Five Islands Park.
An alleged victim reported that an unidentified male had trailed her from Main Street to the park. The assailant approached her from behind and carried out the assault.
According to the police report, a female adult who witnessed the incident intervened, prompting the suspect to flee the scene. He was apprehended a few hours later in the vicinity of New Rochelle High School.
Investigations linked the individual to an assault that took place late on Friday afternoon on Soundview Street. The victim detailed that she had been followed, ambushed from behind, and forcibly brought to the ground. Two bystanders witnessed the attack and intervened, causing the suspect to flee.
In both instances, the attacker was unfamiliar to the victims.
For the incident on the previous day, the suspect has been charged with aggravated sexual abuse. Regarding the alleged assault on Friday, he faces charges of criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation.
