Teachers are among the group of people now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, but getting an appointment is not easy.

Teachers Antoinette Koehler and Dena Delucia-Pryzgoda are now eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccine, but one is getting it next week while the other has to wait more than a month.

This is the dilemma many are now facing as some say the state's website to determine eligibility crashes, or in some cases is showing locations that are not giving out COVID-19 vaccines.

Beginning Monday, teachers, first responders and anyone over the age of 75 are among the group now eligible for vaccinations.

Koehler is a second grade teacher at Columbus Elementary in New Rochelle and says getting the vaccine is as essential as she is.

"It becomes very stressful to worry about health when all we should be worried about is educating our kids, that is our biggest priority. But then we worry about am I going to get sick," she says.

Delucia Pryzgoda, a special-education teacher at Cesar Chavez school in Yonkers, says she called five locations before securing an appointment. She'll have to wait more than a month to get the vaccine.
