There are new questions Monday about test tampering in Yonkers public schools. Last week, tampering allegations at two elementary schools led to questions about the state-mandated exams. It turns out a teacher, alarmed by what she saw when grading the fourth-grade exams, sent a letter to the state Department of Education. That letter triggered the probe. The teacher wrote about three schools in the district, but the state determined one class at the Casimir Pulaski School and three classes at School 29 had unusual erasure patterns. After meeting with parents Friday at School 29, Yonkers School Superintendent Bernard Pierorazio said he is expanding the probe to all fourth-grade classrooms districtwide. He expects to wrap up his initial investigation at the two schools within a few weeks. Related Information
