A Scarsdale High School art teacher was sentenced to four years and three months Friday for possessing child pornography.
When Allen Julier?s home was raided this past September, police found over 500 videos and 100 pictures of child pornography on his home computer.
Although Julier, 55, pleaded guilty to the charges, his attorneys deny that he has any sexual attraction to children and that the images were an escape from the emotional pain and depression he had. They cited that during the 22 years he spent teaching in the fine arts department at the school, Julier had never been accused of any inappropriate actions with children.
His attorneys wanted probation for his crime, but prosecutors sought the maximum 10 years for the charges.
