Taylor's Version: Taylor Swift changes lyric in 'Better Than Revenge' off her version of 'Speak Now'

In the song, Swift sings about a woman who stole her man, and the singer is letting her know there is nothing she does better than revenge.

Taylor Swift's newest re-recording "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" was released Friday, 13 years after the original and with six additional From The Vault tracks that were never-before-released.

Along with the new tracks, Swifties noticed a change in the lyric of one the songs originally on the album "Better Than Revenge." In the song, Swift sings about a woman who stole her man, and the singer is letting her know there is nothing she does better than revenge.

Swift's original lyrics say, "She's not a saint and she's not what you think, she's an actress / She's better known for the things that she does on the mattress."

When Swift announced her intent to re-record her work back in 2019, fans speculated whether she would change the lyrics to the song, keep the song as she wrote it back when she was around 19 or not record it at all.

Swifties were quick to check the lyrics to "Better Than Revenge (Taylor's Version)" Friday, and found she did change one lyric. Instead of commenting on the other woman's sex life, Swift now croons, "He was a moth to the flame, she was holding the matches."

This marks the first time Swift has changed a lyric of a re-recorded song.

The singer is re-recording her first six albums after her masters were sold to music executive Scooter Braun back in 2019. Speak Now (Taylor's Version) is Swift's third re-recorded album and entirely self-written.
