Some fifth-graders in Tarrytown got a new perspective on immigration Monday.
Students at Washington Irving Intermediate School displayed the results of their projects, during which they researched topics related to immigration in the early 20th century using the Rockefeller Archives Center.
They spoke Monday night about what they learned during panel discussion.
Students focused on immigrants' education, gender roles and how they impacted New York City.
The students will present their research to historians at the Rockefeller Archives Center in Sleepy Hollow on Friday.
