Take a "Road Trip: Close to Home" to Warwick to savor the tastes and memories of a unique town shaped by its rich agriculture and creativity.
Candle-making classes at Scripted Fragrance can help you design a scent that glows with a message.
It starts with choosing which of its ten collections speaks to you.
It could be anything from your birth month, hobby and mindset to a person, place or pet.
Your choice becomes the vessel for your masterpiece.
"Each of our candles has a scripted story that goes along with it, so it's really about encapsulating everything that you love and then extracting that into a fragrance," Co-Founder Amberlee Isabella said.
She and her mother Elizabeth are the mother-daughter duo that founded the local business in 2015.
They're part of a small but mighty team of three at Scripted Fragrance.
When you sign up for a workshop, the expert candle artisans will guide you through the process of finding your fragrance, weighing the wax and mixing the magic.
"Our candle-making classes are all about inviting folks into our creative process because what you see here, we do everything ourselves," Amberlee said, "we design everything in-house, print our own glassware and pour all of our own candles."
Scripted Fragrance hosts a variety of themed and private candle-making classes with hand-poured soy wax.
Your final product is an expressive blend unique to you, in a jar that doubles as a reusable Rocks Glass.
Before heading home, fill up and wind down at Drowned Lands Brewery.
The microbrewery and farm-to-table restaurant offers a wide selection of food and drinks made on-site.
All the beers are brewed and canned in a connected 15-barrel brew house.
Several oak barrels serve a special part of the process that invites the local environment around the tank to impact the beers.
"When you finish and package that beer, you have a beer that was brewed in Warwick, made in Warwick and really represents Warwick," Owner Michael Kraai said.
That also means the tastes can change through the seasons, even when it comes to the food.
Executive Chef Nikki Hanna said everything is made in-house and baked in a big brick oven.
She cooks up an eclectic menu of special spices and blends with ingredients that reflect the local land they come from.
"It's a place where you can just come, slow down and stay awhile," Kraai said.
A cozy space to relax and reflect on the memories made on this "Road Trip: Close to Home."
