Some big name restaurants are experimenting with ideas that they hope will increase their market share.
Industry giant McDonald's says it will try out table service at a number of its franchises. The chain is also going to try a sandwich menu that allows you to customize your choice of beef or chicken with a selection of buns and toppings.
Also, consumers may soon be able to satisfy their Dunkin' Donuts craving from the comfort of their home. The chain is partnering with the on-demand service "Doordash" to test out delivery in select cities. The promise is to have your order to you in 45 minutes or less.
And say good-bye to soda on the kids menu at IHOP and Applebee's. The restaurants are eliminating the sugary drink from its choices for younger customers. They are the first sit-down restaurants to do so. However, while soda may be off the menu, parents can still order the drinks for them.
