A White Plains swimmer has inspired her teammates to raise money for good causes.
Maya Glick, 12, and her fellow Stingrays Swim Team of the JCC of Mid-Westchester presented the American Red Cross with a nearly $2,000 check for hurricane relief this weekend.
The team held a swim-a-thon, swimming more than 3,000 laps, to help raise money for both their own community and for the rest of the world.
Half of the money raised went to buying new bleachers for Stringrays fans, and the other half went to the victims of Harvey, Irma and Maria.
