The Westchester Democratic party chose a new chairperson for the first time in 16 years.
Suzanne Berger was elected Thursday night, and becomes the first woman to serve as the party's chairperson.
Berger replaces Reggie LaFayette, who dropped out of the race last month.
Berger currently heads the Greenburgh Town Democratic Committee.
The position is a two-year term.
