Driver crashes stolen car into police vehicle on Sprain Brook Parkway in Greenburgh

News 12 was told that the driver got out of the car and then jumped into the Sprain Lake.

State police say a Bronx man is facing charges after leading police on a pursuit in Greenburgh Tuesday night.

It happened on the Sprain Brook Parkway when police tried to stop the vehicle for a reported stolen plate.

The driver struck three Westchester County Police vehicles before stopping.

News 12 was told that the driver got out of the car and then jumped into the Sprain Lake.

Police say the driver, 54-year-old George Evangelista, was taken into custody.

One officer sustained minor injuries.

Evangelista faces misdemeanors charges and was turned over to the NYPD for an active warrant.
