State police said on Tuesday that they arrested a male suspect connected to a Monday night shooting in the Town of Somers that left one person dead, put two others in the hospital and shut down local schools.

Major Kathryne Rohde, a state trooper, said there were three victims involved who had some type of relationship with Jimenez.

"One is deceased," Rohde said. "The other two are being treated for injuries."

The Somers town supervisor says the shooting victims are two boys - one is in eighth grade; the other is in 10th. A woman was also injured.

Police said they were tipped off to his location by Patricia Schiller, a retired New York City detective, who was in the area checking on her office nearby.

"When I saw the blinds were down, which we never put blinds down, and the air conditioner out of the window, I came over to the troops on the corner and I said, "'I think he is inside,'" Schiller said.

The suspect is being arraigned and charged with murder in the second-degree and two counts attempted murder in the second-degree.

Jimenez did not enter a plea.

He will be back in court November 4th.

The search for Jimenez shut down Putnam Valley schools on Tuesday.

It also closed streets like Peekskill Hollow Road.

Our crews also saw a lot of police activity, including investigators who were wearing hazmat suits and carrying cameras, at Crossroads at Baldwin Place on Tuesday.

Neighbors who live there said this is where the shooting took place on Monday.

One resident called the entire situation "a disgrace."
