A suspect in a deadly hit-and-run accident in Port Chester was arraigned Thursday on a felony charge.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Westchester Avenue and Poningo Street Wednesday. Police say 23-year-old Milton Vizhoo, a native of Ecuador, was hit by a van that kept going while he was crossing the street. According to investigators, eyewitnesses followed the van and gave police the license plate number. Police arrested 57-year-old Drew Zottola, of Carmel, a short time later. Zottola is charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
Police say drug use may have been a factor. They say Zottola may have been on a prescription pain medication for a dental problem.
