Numerous organizations throughout the Hudson Valley are joining efforts to get kids into the back-to-school spirit this upcoming weekend.
For those in Westchester seeking new school supplies, several events are scheduled for Saturday. A school supply giveaway and basketball clinic will take place in New Rochelle from 10 a.m. until noon at Lincoln Park. The event will also feature bounce castles and various fun activities.
Additionally, there will be a Back-to-School Block Party at the Greenburgh Farmers Market on Elm Street, just off 90 Manhattan Ave. in White Plains. Attendees can enjoy complimentary food, including hot dogs, hamburgers, and jerk chicken. Backpacks will also be given away during the event, which kicks off at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
In Rockland County, the Palisades Center and "All In Adventures" are organizing a drive to collect new school supplies on Saturday. Notebooks, pens, and backpacks are being collected at the All In Adventures Mystery Room on Level Three of the Palisades Center, with the supplies slated for distribution to local schools.
