Demonstrations continued at SUNY Purchase Saturday night following the arrests of at least 70 protestors on campus the night before.

Some students told News 12 they think police officers' handling of the situation was unnecessarily violent.

About 150 students sat quietly on the grass in protest and held signs.

Students did not speak to News 12 anytime they were approched for an interview or comment.

News 12 tried to reach school administrators but had not heard back as of Saturday night.

News 12 was told that students had planned to meet with college administrators but it was not immediately clear if that meeting occurred or what the outcome was if it occurred.
