Following discussions between the administration, faculty, and students at SUNY Purchase regarding the ongoing protests on campus, the school's president has announced significant concessions.
In a statement released today, the president revealed that the college has agreed to suspend any disciplinary consequences for individuals arrested during the demonstrations that occurred on May 2.
However, this leniency is contingent upon the arrested students committing to no further actions that contravene the student code of conduct, local, state, or campus policies.
Moreover, SUNY Purchase has committed to conducting a comprehensive review of the events that unfolded on May 2. This comes in the wake of the college's dispatch of campus police to dismantle an encampment on the campus premises.
