The News 12 Storm Watch Team is tracking storms for Sunday night into Monday. First half of Sunday will be fine and mostly dry. Rain doesn't move in until the evening and then packs a punch during the overnight into St. Patrick's Day. This will bring with it drenching rains, strong wind, and potentially a couple isolated moments of some thunder and lightning. The severe element as of Thursday night looks to stay to the south of the borough and area, but the News 12 Storm Watch Team will continue to keep an eye on it.
Thursday night is mostly cloudy and cooler with temperatures in the upper-30s and low-40s. The clouds are a bummer for the total lunar eclipse that happens during the overnight. The moon darkens after 1 a.m., then the eclipse itself and redness will peak between 2:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. Again, this will likely be impeded by some clouds. Temperatures will be cold but manageable.
Friday will have warmer temperatures and sunshine. Temperatures warm into the weekend and reach their warmest on Sunday reaching into the 60s.
Saturday will be a drizzly and dreary start to the weekend. Not major rain but some scattered light showers. Then Sunday brings the main rain and especially wind before the rain arrives. Gusts could reach the 30 to 40 mph range with isolated spots in the 50-mph range. Temperatures have been such that whatever rain arrives (likely between a half inch and 1 inch) will be able to soak easily into the ground.
