Summer camps got the green light to reopen as soon as Monday but will look different due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo approved the reopening of camps. Many say they're planning to open mid-July in order to have time to get ready for the mandatory changes they need to make.
Those changes are based on state regulations and best practices from the CDC and the American Camp Association.
Changes expected include full health screenings, temperature checks, increased sanitizing stations, additional hand washing, mandatory masks for staff and smaller camp group sizes and activities outside only.
The American Camp Association says when looking for a camp this summer, make sure they're licensed to ensure they're following the state regulations and best practices.
