A Suffern Central School District teacher has been selected to receive a presidential award for excellence in mathematics and science teaching.
Lynda Brennan is a teacher at R.P. Connor Elementary School.
Brennan will receive a certificate signed by President Joe Biden and $10,000.
She celebrated the accomplishment with her students and co-workers.
"This all along has been about getting our school and our kids recognized. This really isn't an award that goes to one person. This is really an award that goes to our entire community," she says.
Brennan will head to Washington, D.C. for an awards ceremony sometime this year.
