Communities across the Hudson Valley are taking time to honor the men and woman of the U.S. Armed Forces on Veterans Day.
In Suffern, American Legion Post 859 hosted its annual parade. It started at Village Hall and finished up at the soldiers monument a short distance away.
Local veterans say they're thankful for the recognition. "It's our day. This is for everybody who fought for the flag and our colors," says Carl Kaplan, who served in Vietnam.
The holiday dates back to Nov. 11, 1918, which is the official end of World War I.
