The city of Yonkers is helping to "stuff a bus" full of pajamas to give children in need something warm to wear on Thanksgiving night.
The Women in Business Committee is organizing the effort to help children at over 75 local shelters and orphanages.
The bus will make 22 stops throughout Westchester with a goal of collecting 5,000 new pairs of pajamas and books. "The temperatures go down at night. And they will be very, very cold soon. The more pajamas and the more books, the more children will be warm at night," says Director of Pajama Program Genevieve Piturro.
Piturro tells News 12 that the drive will go on until Friday.
