The quest for civil rights was remembered today in Bronxville.
Hundreds of college and elementary school students were joined by clergy members and the mayors of Bronxville and Mount Vernon to recreate the 1965 Selma to Montgomery voting rights march. The march spanned 54 miles and changed the course of history.
On the campus of Concordia College in Bronxville, organizers of the procession felt the message needed to be heard again.
"To me, it seemed like it was important to understand what it was like to live through that era," said organizer Dr. Jason Thoms. "A lot of our students have lost that connection in some ways."
