Rye Country Day School students went back to class Wednesday after the CDC declared it is no longer necessary for schools to close over swine flu concerns.
Officials made the decision Tuesday to close the school for two weeks after two students were told they had probable cases of swine flu.
CDC officials say the spread of the virus in the U.S. has been comparable to that of the seasonal flu, so it wasn't necessary to close schools.
Students say they liked the idea of a long, unscheduled vacation, but don't mind coming back.
"I was looking forward to two weeks [off], but I?m pretty glad we're back because finals are coming up soon,? student Naropa Perez says.
Rye Country Day School officials were also given the green light to resume sports and other extracurricular programs.
