A high school student from Maria Regina High School in Hartsdale is one of only a dozen students within the New York Archdiocese chosen to meet Pope Francis this week.
Senior Kara Fragola says she hopes a visit with the pope could be the answer to her prayers. Her father was diagnosed with terminal cancer and told that he does not have much time left to live.
Fragola says that she will ask Pope Francis to say a prayer for her father during her brief audience with the pontiff in East Harlem, Manhattan.
"I think he's close to God and think it's an opportunity for divine intervention," she says. "If he said a prayer, I know God would hear it."
While Fragola says she knows her request is a longshot, she says she's hoping for the best.
