An Orange County high school student is dead after a one-car accident.
State police say Mauricio Heredia, 17, from Middletown, was driving home alone after working out Sunday night when he apparently went off the road on Route 6 in Slate Hill and rolled the vehicle over.
No one called the accident in, and troopers on routine patrol found the gray 2001 Honda Civic around 3:20 a.m. Monday. The Minisink Valley High School senior was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are still investigating the accident.
Schools officials say grief counselors are on hand at the school.
There is no word on funeral arrangements for Heredia.
