Dutchess County police are searching for car thieves after a string of break-ins this weekend.
Authorities say the crimes happened in the town of Union Vale, and most of the vehicles were left unlocked.
Officials have some simple tips to keep you protected:
  • Keep your car locked at all times when you're not using it.
  • Avoid leaving your keys inside the vehicle.
  • And do not leave valuable items like wallets, phones, or jewelry in your car. Or hide them so they are out of sight.
