Mental health professionals offer tips for coping with coronavirus fears

The coronavirus outbreak is putting people around the world on edge. 
The Mental Health Association of Westchester shared some tips to help people take care of themselves during these trying time. 
Stay connected with people, call or FaceTime with loved ones, practice self-care and keep a routine that keeps you healthy and active as you can be. 
Licensed clinical social worker Jenna Velez believes the pandemic will have a greater impact on those who are struggling with mental wellness.
“Our message to people is make sure you find ways that even if you’re not physically close to others, to maintain that connection,” says Velez. 
Velez says if you need help, residents should reach out to mental health professionals. It’s also important to stay optimistic.
