Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Alex Calamia says the worst of the strong thunderstorms will be between midnight and 6 a.m.
- Coastal flood warning in effect for Westchester county. Tides will be 1.5 to 2.5 feet higher than normal.
- A flood watch is in effect for the entire region. 2-4 inches of rain is expected.
- The worst of the storm hits between midnight and 6 a.m. Things look much better by mid-morning.
- Winds are less gusty for the Hudson Valley then they are to the east, but we may see isolated pockets of 40 mph gusts in Westchester County.
SUNDAY NIGHT: Heavy rain and wind is expected with a few thunderstorms. Temperatures climb to near 60 by sunrise. Coastal and rain related flooding is possible. Winds from the SE at 20-30 mph. Gusts over 40 mph possible.
MONDAY: Thunderstorms for the morning commute. Gusty winds expected to reach 50 mph.
MONDAY NIGHT: Cloudy and cooler with lows in the 30s.
TUESDAY: A mix of clouds and sun. Much cooler with highs in the low 40s.
WEDNESDAY: Ample sunshine. Seasonable with highs in the low 40s.
REST OF THE WEEK: Dry through Christmas next Monday.
