A winter weather advisory will be in effect through 6 a.m. Wednesday for all of the Hudson Valley. The threat of snow accumulations is up to an inch for areas up north. Ice accumulations could be up to a tenth of an inch, creating a layer of slick and slippery conditions.
FORECAST DETAILS:
A rollercoaster stretch of weather is ahead as temperatures rebound briefly into the upper 30s to near 40 degrees by mid to late week.
The temperatures are paired with a couple of gusty days with winds near 30 mph. Following this stretch, another unsettled weather pattern will attempt to return this weekend.
Extreme cold is not expected - however, eyes are on a system that could bring another round of winter weather by President's Day.
Tonight: STORM WATCH: Mostly cloudy, near-seasonable cold. Light snow showers and freezing rain are expected early. Any precipitation will end before midnight. Low temperatures: In the mid- to-upper 20s. Snow accumulations: Up to one inch north of Westchester County. Ice accumulations: Up to one-tenth of an inch.
Wednesday: Turning sunnier and breezier. Cooler start, then highs reach the mid- to-upper 30s.
Thursday: Mostly sunny but cooler. Temperatures range from the upper teens in the morning to the low–mid 30s.
Friday: Bright and quiet. Morning cold gives way to highs in the 30s.
Saturday: Mostly sunny and milder. Temperatures climb from the low 20s into the 30s.
Sunday: Mostly cloudy with increasing clouds with a chance of snow. Temperatures range from around 30 to the mid-30s.
President's Day: Cloudy and milder with a chance of a wintry mix. Morning temperatures in the low 30s rise into the upper 30s.
