WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

A system passes by to the south of the Hudson Valley today, but tosses rain showers our way for the second half of the day.

After it passes, a cold front passes by overnight, cooling the temps a little but picking up the winds a lot for Election Day on Tuesday.

Two more rain chances move in this week: Wednesday night into Thursday & Friday night into Saturday.

Both will lead to scattered showers for the region.

Temps will hang near normal levels through much of this week, but a cool down is in sight for next week.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy and breezy. The winds will make the temps feel a little colder. Lows: low to mid-40s.

TUESDAY: ELECTION DAY - Sunny and breezy at times. Highs: mid-50s. Lows: upper 30s to low 40s.

WEDNESDAY: Mix of sun and clouds. Highs: upper 50s to low 60s. Lows: upper 30s to low 40s.

THURSDAY: Partly cloudy and breezy at times. Highs: low to mid-50s. Lows: mid-30s.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny to mostly cloudy. Highs: mid-to-upper 50s. Lows: upper 40s.

SATURDAY: Mix of sun and clouds. Highs: mid-to-upper 50s. Lows: upper 30s to low 40s.
