STORM WATCH: Mostly cloudy, chance of late afternoon thunderstorms for Monday in the Hudson Valley

News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Julian Seawright says the Hudson Valley will see a mostly cloudy Monday with a chance of late afternoon thunderstorms.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
- A stiff breeze from the south will bring dangerous surf and a higher than usual tide.
- Monday will be humid with some sunshine in the late morning and afternoon. A few thunderstorms are possible later in the day. High temperatures will reach the mid-80s but feel like 90. Surf conditions will remain rough on Monday.
- Stray showers and cloudy skies are expected on Tuesday with much cooler air pushing in.
- Sunny skies return for the middle of the week with very pleasant temperatures and some of our driest air of the summer.
FORECAST
OVERNIGHT: Rain is likely and could be heavy in spots. Isolated thunderstorms that could be strong are possible as well. Humid with lows in the low- to mid-70s.
MONDAY: Mostly cloudy skies. Hot and humid with highs in the mid-80s. Thunderstorms are possible in the late afternoon and evening.
TUESDAY: Cloudy to start, then some sun later in the day. Becoming less humid and cooler. Highs in the low- to mid-70.
MID-WEEK: Becoming sunny, dry, and very pleasant. High temperatures near 80 with morning lows near 60.
NEXT WEEKEND: Warm and sunny with highs in the mid-80s.
