STORM WATCH - Rain starts as a period of wet snow in northwestern Ulster County. Heavy rain and gusty winds overnight and through around 7 a.m. Wednesday.
NEXT: Drying out mid-morning Wednesday. Dry weather will remain through the Thanksgiving holiday and through most of the upcoming weekend.
FORECAST:
TONIGHT: STORM WATCH - In northern Ulster County, expect an initial period of wet snow before changing to rain through the evening. A couple of inches of wet, slushy snow is possible in highest elevations of Ulster County. Elsewhere, this will be all rain. Ponding is possible overnight into early Wednesday with periods of moderate to heavy rain continuing. WIND GUSTS: 20 to 35 MPH tonight into early Wednesday. Check with your air carrier if flying today into Wednesday. If you are driving, be prepared for a slow-go this evening and early Wednesday. Lows near 42 degrees.
WEDNESDAY: STORM WATCH (EARLY AM) - Moderate to heavy rain during the early morning, ending before 8 a.m. Mostly cloudy and breezy for the afternoon. Highs around 56 degrees. Lows around 39 degrees.
THURSDAY: THANKSGIVING - Sun and clouds -- windy and dry -- highs around 52 degrees. Lows near 36 degrees.
