A storm is bringing snow, sleet and rain to Westchester and the Hudson Valley to wrap up the first weekend of 2021.
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for parts of Westchester and the Hudson Valley through 12 a.m. Monday.
News 12 meteorologists say that Sunday's snow, rain and sleet are continuing into the overnight hours.
The precipitation may change to all snow or parts of the region, but southern Westchester and Rockland can expect mostly rain, maybe mixing with sleet and snow, for a coating to an inch.
We can expect to see accumulations of 1-2 inches of snow for a swath of the region from I-287 north to I-84, with higher amounts of 2-4 inches of snow in spots further north.
The rain and snow are expected to taper off by early Monday morning.
For Monday, the leftover precipitation could make for a slick morning commute. Lingering clouds will give way to afternoon sunshine, and it'll be breezy at times with highs near 41 degrees.
That kicks off a tranquil stretch of weather for much of the work week, but News 12 meteorologists are tracking the chance of another storm for next weekend - so stay with us for the very latest.
