A Rockland grand jury has indicted a man on an attempted murder charge stemming from an incident earlier this month.
Stony Point resident Todd Humphrey, 46, was arraigned Tuesday by Judge Larry Schwartz in Rockland County Court.
He is accused of beating his girlfriend with two different hammers in a hotel room earlier this month, and then leading the police on a car chase that spanned several counties before ending in a multicar crash.
Humphrey faces charges of second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, and two weapons charges. He was remanded to Rockland County Jail on no bail and is expected to be back in court on Nov. 15.
