An arraignment in a Stony Point homicide was delayed Friday after the suspect was sent to a psychiatric facility.
Robert Rodriguez, who is accused of killing Ronald Mann three years ago, did not appear at his arraignment in Rockland County Court.
In February 2021, authorities responded to a car on fire along the Palisades Parkway in Stony Point.
After bringing the fire under control, the body of Ronald Mann was discovered inside the vehicle.
An examination revealed that Mann had a gunshot wound, which led to his death being ruled as a homicide.
There is now an arrest warrant for Rodriguez to appear after his stay.
It was still an emotional day for the victim's family outside the court.
"We have waited long enough and we're sure that the court will prevail this time around," said Joseph Thompson, the victim's brother.
Rodriguez faces numerous charges, including second-degree murder.
