A popular Yonkers grocery store is officially stocked and prepared for the “Super Bowl of Shopping,” also known as Thanksgiving.
Stew Leonard’s says that an incredible amount of planning goes into preparing for the busy week. Aisles of farm fresh are typically packed two days before Thanksgiving.
The chain is expected to sell more than 70,000 turkeys this week alone.
Janine Arceri, of Ardsley, is one of hundreds sprinting towards the finish line after checking off items on her shopping list for the big Thanksgiving feast.
"A 13 pounder," says Arceri, about a potential turkey. "Thirteen this year should be right, and that’s not a hard turkey to cook."
She says her thanksgiving feast will be pricey, but she’s thankful for the moments the feast will bring.
"I’m thankful for the fact that I have a nice family, that we are all healthy," says Arceri.
News 12’s Nadia Galindo was told Stew Leonard’s chefs make enough gravy to fill an entire swimming pool and enough pies to go the length of 97 football fields.
