State Sen. Marilyn Moore announces campaign for Bridgeport mayor

This is not Moore's first time running for mayor. She faced incumbent Mayor Joe Ganim in a Democratic primary in 2019 and then ran as a write-in candidate in the general election.

State Sen. Marilyn Moore announced her campaign for Bridgeport mayor Tuesday afternoon after filing paperwork at the city clerk's office.
This is not Moore's first time running for mayor. She faced incumbent Mayor Joe Ganim in a Democratic primary in 2019 and then ran as a write-in candidate in the general election.
Moore says she wants to tackle issues that different areas of the city are facing.
"For the people, I think that the neighborhoods have been left out of the equation of development, of crime, and I think we owe it to them to address the neighborhood issues. Everything isn't happening on Main Street. It's an important part of the development of the City of Bridgeport, but those neighborhoods are what sustain us 24/7," said Moore.
John Gomes also announced his bid for mayor back in December.
