A new state run
COVID-19 testing site opened its doors at Rockland Community College.
There were no long
lines or wait times for people getting tested at the college’s fieldhouse.
The site is offering
PCR saliva-based tests by Quadrant Sciences. The company says their mouth swab
helps detect infection early on and test results come back within two to three
days.
The site is open
weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
While appointments are
needed, News 12 is told that walk-ins are welcome when demand is
slow.
There is also a pop-up testing site opening in Orange County. Testing will be done in the Village Hall Parking Lot in Washingtonville from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. through Feb. 18. Appointments are required.
In Westchester, a testing site opened in Yorktown Heights. Tests will be administered at Granite Knolls Park off of Stony Street.
