The state reported Saturday that the COVID-19 positivity rate was below 10% for the second day in a row.
The positivity rate was at 9.23% Health care officials say we're finally seeing some light at the end of the tunnel.
"We see fewer and fewer people who've never dealt with one form or another of the virus that causes COVID than before. Because of that, we're seeing a lot less severe illness and a lot fewer deaths per infection," says former CDC director Dr. Ton Frieden.
Gov. Kathy Hochul says that the 7-day average of new COVID-19 cases is down 47% over the previous week.
Doctor's say we're not out of the woods yet and are encouraging more people to get vaccinated.
Rockland-based Pfizer plans to submit findings that 3 shots offer strong protection for kids under 5
