State police set up a traffic checkpoint on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Yonkers trying to find witnesses to last week?s fatal crash into a reservoir.
Investigators say a Ford Explorer crashed through a guardrail on the parkway and plunged into the Grassy Sprain Reservoir last Friday. James Callhan, 38, of Ossining and his fiancée Rachelle Curry, 34, were in the SUV when it plunged into the water. Callhan was able to escape but Curry?s body was later found in the submerged vehicle.
Detectives say since the accident occurred in the early morning it is harder to investigate. Police say they still need witnesses to piece together the crash.
