State police investigate if medical emergency preceded crash involving Peekskill's city manager

Police say 56-year-old Andrew Stewart was heading eastbound on Bear Mountain Bridge Road just before 9 a.m. Wednesday, when his car went into the westbound lane and hit a rock wall.

State police say they are looking at whether a medical emergency contributed to a vehicle accident involving Peekskill's city manager.
Police say 56-year-old Andrew Stewart was heading eastbound on Bear Mountain Bridge Road in Cortlandt just before 9 a.m. Wednesday, when his car went into the westbound lane and hit a rock wall.
There were no other vehicles involved in the accident.
Stewart was taken to Westchester Medical Center.
Officials say he is currently in stable condition.
The Peekskill City Council is holding a special meeting Friday night to appoint an acting city manager.
