A man has been charged with arson after a fire tore through a three-story apartment building in Brewster on Old Route 6.
New York State Police say the fire broke out around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at a multifamily building in the Town of Southeast. Responders found the structure, which held 10 units, actively burning.

Officials say at least five units were destroyed and others damaged.
All residents made it out safely, though a couple of firefighters suffered minor injuries.
Multiple families are now displaced, and the Red Cross is assisting.
Police say 43-year-old Brian Cronin, a tenant, confessed to setting the fire in his apartment. He was arrested and charged with arson in the second degree, a class B felony, and is being held at Putnam County Jail on $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond.
The investigation into the cause of the fire remains ongoing.
