State police say two people injured in Thursday's crash in Orange County are believed to be associated with a gang.
Police said they were trying to stop the vehicle when an 18-mile pursuit began.
Three other vehicles were struck as a result of the pursuit.
Police say six people were taken to the hospital.
The pursuit ended on State Route 17-K in Newburgh.
The gang is allegedly responsible for numerous smash and grab larcenies, and other crimes throughout the east coast.
Charges against the two alleged gang members are pending when its medically feasible.
