Two minors were charged with second-degree robbery following a carjacking incident on Friday in the Town of Liberty.
According to state police, the violent incident took place at 10:30 p.m. after a driver was flagged down by a female asking for a ride. She and another person then entered the vehicle and began striking the driver in the face, authorities say. The driver of the vehicle was pushed out of the car and the two individuals drove away.
Officials found the 2018 Subaru Forester on State Route 17 traveling west before pulling the vehicle over.
Both suspects, who are brother and sister, were in the vehicle with three other minors, however it was determined that the other people were not involved in the alleged carjacking.
